This treatment may reduce your dependence on glasses. Find out how to know if you qualify.
Imagine being able to work, drive, read the clock, play sports, camp—just about everything—without having to reach for your glasses or contact lenses. Through advances in laser vision correction, a new treatment called LASIK (Laser in-situ Keratomileusis), may make this a reality for you.
Laser vision correction is an outpatient treatment that uses a cool beam of light to gently reshape the outer surface of the eye, the cornea, thereby improving vision. Dr. Minas and Dr. Kanda use the FDA-approved VISX Excimer Laser System, which has been successfully performed on over 1 million patients worldwide.
To find out if you are a candidate for laser vision correction, you will need a comprehensive eye examination by Dr. Minas or Dr. Kanda. This determines whether your eyes are healthy and suitable for the procedure. Several diagnostic tests including a refraction (the way light focuses into your eye) and Corneal Topography (mapping the shape of the cornea) must be performed.
Laser vision correction for nearsightedness and astigmatism is the most advanced treatment available today. If less dependence on glasses or contact lenses sounds appealing, Dr. Minas or Dr. Kanda would like to help you achieve that goal. Please contact our office to set up your appointment today.
